Tourists should not avoid travelling
to the Indian Ocean following the tsunami say
travel agents in the area. It will take time
for countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, the
Maldives and Indonesia to get back on track
but added tourism was a vital part of their
economy.
Helen Ward, manager of Leamington-based TMG
Leisure said: "We were very lucky in that
we didn't have anyone affected by the tsunami.
We have got people due to travel out at the
end of the month and we will have to make alternative
arrangements. It is going to take some time
but they depend on our tourism so it is essential
we travel back."
