Business flights to the Far East, Asia
and the former Soviet bloc are soaring, according
to a Warwickshire travel firm.
David Moore, main board director at Travel Management
Group plc (TMG), in Dormer Place, Leamington,
said: "One of the three major growth areas
for business travel has been in China, which
has been encouraged locally by links with Coventry
and Warwickshire Chamber. We have seen the number
of delegates tarvelling on these market visits
double in the last two to three years. Traditionally,
it was mainly manufacturing and automotive companies,
but recent visits have included concentration
on medical equipment, IT, the textile industry,
language training and environmental organisations"
Mr Moore said property management, manufacturing
and engineering industries were also showing
more interest in Poland, Hungary, Latvia and
the Ukraine.
