Businesses
are wasting thousands of pounds a year on in efficient
travel expenses, a Leamington-based firm has warned.
The company is urging firms to look at how they
travel in order to cut down on needless outgoings.
Business
Travel Director David Moore said "Companies
tend to be a bit blasé about the costs
of travel. People book a conference or meeting
and then worry about how they will get to it
later. But a bit of forward planning can reduce
ticket costs massively.
" For instance, many local firms book meetings
in London for around 9am - meaning they take
a train at peak time. But by putting an appointment
back by an hour or two, the cost falls dramatically.
The same is true of air travel".
To
help firms calculate their expenses, TMG is
offering free business travel audits. The audit
looks at the use of all modes of transport and
areas in which a company can save.
