A Midlands corporate events specialist has reported a 150 per cent turnover increase in its first financial quarter of the year when compared to 2009:

TMG Events, of Leamington Spa, saw a surge in business between March and May 2010 as businesses began to increase the number of events and conferences they were looking to hold.

A number of companies invested in UK-based events, while other popular locations included Paris, Venice and Budapest.

The increased activity has allowed TMG Events to strengthen its operational and sales team and Sophie Moseley of TMG Events, is hoping to see a sustained level of activity for the remainder of 2010.

Sophie said: "The figures we are seeing are very encouraging. Normally, an increase in corporate event and conference activity is an indicator of how the economy is standing - and so we hope these levels of activity are maintained.

"We are finding that we have been working on enquiries for work both existing clients and completely new ones.

"The type of events we have been managing taken have been in-keeping with traditional locations - across the UK and then Paris, Venice and other major European venues. But we're also seeing a return to longer haul destinations including Las Vegas, which shows money is coming back into the market.

"It's a boost for the whole of the Travel Management Group to see such positive figures and the key will be to build on that throughout the rest of this year, and into 2011."
